I Was A Cub Scout

I Was a Cub Scout is a two-man synthpop band from Long Bennington and Collingham, England, consisting of William Bowerman and Todd Marriott. Formed in 2006, the band has recently gained popularity through increased airplay on BBC Radio 1 and MTV 2.

I Was a Cub Scout was originally a one-man band, consisting solely of Todd Marriott. Lacking a drummer, Marriott used a drum machine to create the sound. William Bowerman joined the band in mid 2006, and has played drums ever since.

The band spent about six months playing house parties and night clubs in England, their exposure gaining them some popularity. They have also maximized their exposure by touring extensively, playing in the 2007 Carling and Download Festivals, as well as embarking on a tour with DARTZ!.

Four singles have been released, each of which has had considerable airplay. IWACS is currently working on their first studio album, the title of which has been confirmed as "I Want You to Know That There Is Always Hope". The latest single and album were/are produced by the legendary Hugh Padgham. The album is slated for release in early 2008.

The album will have around 13 tracks, 3 of which have been previously released. "I Hate Nightclubs" will not appear on the album due to its unpopularity amongst fans and critics alike. However the band see it nothing more than a learning curve and have self proclaimed this album to be their best work as of yet.

The band have just finished touring with Kill Hannah and Forward Russia, however they were forced to pull out of the Minus The Bear tour for undisclosed reasons.

The band will be going on tour in february in order to promote the new single, Pink Squares / Echoes and their debut album which will be released on February 18th.
